National pharmacy groups kick off campaign highlighting the pharmacist

A new public awareness campaign is being launched by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and other pharmacy groups and stakeholders to educate consumers about the vital contributions pharmacists make to patients and the nation's health care system. The coalition of partner organizations, known as Pharmacists for Healthier Lives, seeks to raise the profile of pharmacy as an essential health care profession. Members of the group's partner organizations will have access to an online toolkit of key messages and branding resources to utilize in their own personal and professional communications. Members of the general public can engage with Pharmacists for Healthier Lives on its Facebook page and through the campaign website. Lucinda Maine, PhD, executive vice president and CEO of AACP, says: "We and our campaign partners seek to increase awareness of how pharmacists help people live healthier lives—and to promote understanding of the many settings in which pharmacists use their extensive knowledge and expertise."
