In-Store Services
Prescription Refills
Call or fax us and we will refill your prescription. Please give us the name of the person you are calling in the refill for, the name of the medication and the prescription number. If you are calling after hours, a phone voice message system will allow you to leave your refill request. Please remember to leave us your phone number.
We also have a refill ready program in each of our locations where regularly scheduled medications will be filled the same time every month. There are some restrictions on what medications are eligible for this service, but please contact us if you are interested in this program.
After-Hours Reorder Service
If you can’t call in a refill during our normal business hours, you can use our 24 hour automated refill line. Just call the normal pharmacy number and go through the menu as prompted; and your prescription will be filled the next day.
Gift Wrapping
Trumm Drug offers complimentary gift wrapping on all gift department merchandise purchases. This includes a large selection of picture frames, gourmet food items, clothing art prints, floral candles, and all other home décor items.
Frequent Buyer Program
Our frequent buyer program rewards customers for all purchases of Sunmark brand products, greeting cards, and regular priced giftware. The dollar amount of the items purchased is punched to the nearest dollar on the customer’s card. When filled, the card may be redeemed for $10.00 off any purchase of regular priced giftware, greeting cards, and Sunmark products. Ask for your card the next time you purchase any of these products.
Kodak Picture Maker
Trumm Drug offers a digital picture maker kiosk at the downtown Alexandria, Elbow Lake, Parkers Prairie and Glenwood locations. Prints and enlargements can be made from a variety of sources including media cards, CDs, photos, disks, USB media, wireless devices and original photos. Multi-photo package options can be produced, as well as collages, calendars and ID photos.
EMERGENCY After Hour Service
One of the Trumm Drug Pharmacist is on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week. They can be contacted on our EMERGENCY after hours cell phone; 360-760-4907. The on call pharmacist will answer or leave a voice message and they will return your call promptly.If your EMERGENCY requires the Pharmacist to come to the drug store for you there is a $15.00 fee that is not billable to any insurance.
Innovative Therapuetics
Medication therapy management is the personalized management of a patient’s drug therapy by a pharmacist. The pharmacist and patient meet uninterrupted in a one-on-one setting to assess all of the patient’s medications; resolve or prevent any drug problems; establish goals for each medication and condition; and make the commitment to continuously evaluate the patient’s needs through follow-up encounters.
Aaron Finley has been a pharmacist in Alexandria since becoming licensed over 4 years ago. While at the University of Minnesota he studied rural pharmacy extensively while earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2002. As part of the degree, he received specialized training in assessing patients’ medication related needs and utilizing a systematic care process to monitor and maximize the outcomes of those medications. This new theory and process for providing patient care is called pharmaceutical care. Medication therapy management incorporates this standard of care and encourages patients to actively participate in getting the most out of their medications.
The value of patient care at this level has been recognized by the Minnesota legislature, which recently funded Minnesota Medicaid to reimburse pharmacists for providing this service to Medicaid patients. This has led to insurance providers following the legislature’s lead, and speculation of other providers following the legislature’s lead, and speculation of other providers and more government programs following suit. Many patients are willing to pay directly for this service as well. The value to patients and payers can be quickly realized by receiving this service.
Aaron knows that over 50% of people taking medications have at least one drug therapy problem that could be resolved by utilizing medication therapy management. By providing medication therapy management pharmacists can improve medication outcomes and thus improve medical conditions and reduce health care costs.
Aaron is actively implementing medication therapy management at Innovative Therapeutics, a clinical pharmacy located next to Trumm Drug in downtown Alexandria. Recently, he has modified his schedule to make time available for patients to make appointments for this level of service that goes above and beyond traditional prescription counseling. Aaron is also working with Medication Management Systems, Inc., a new Minnesota company that helps pharmacists develop medication therapy management
